From zero to browsing in under a minute

No apps. No accounts. Just connect to the WiFi network and follow the prompts on your phone.

Connect to network
Open WiFi settings & tap the OpenFi network

Look for a WiFi network with OpenFi or the venue's name in your phone's WiFi settings. Tap it once — no password needed to join.

  • Go to Settings → WiFi on your phone
  • Find the network named after the venue or "OpenFi"
  • Tap to connect — it's an open, free-to-join network
  • A login page will pop up automatically

Enter your voucher or buy data with Mobile Money

Your phone automatically opens the OpenFi login page. You'll see two options — use a voucher you already bought, or purchase data right now with Mobile Money.

  • A browser popup appears automatically
  • Enter your voucher code (e.g. XK7-29A)
  • Or pick a package and pay via MTN / Airtel Money
  • Vouchers are sold at the venue counter or front desk

Everything you need to know about using OpenFi WiFi as a customer.

Open your browser and try visiting any website (e.g. http://example.com). The captive portal should redirect you automatically. If it still doesn't appear, try visiting http://192.168.88.1 directly, or disconnect and reconnect to the WiFi network.
Vouchers are sold at the venue — the counter, front desk, or cashier. Tell them you want WiFi and they'll sell you a printed or written voucher code. You can also buy data directly from the portal page using Mobile Money (MTN or Airtel).
It depends on the package. Hourly vouchers start counting from the moment you first connect. Daily and weekly vouchers count from first use as well. If you disconnect and reconnect before the time expires, you resume where you left off — no extra charge.
Your internet access stops and the login portal reappears on your screen. Just buy a new voucher or pay via Mobile Money to continue browsing. Your device stays connected to the WiFi network — only the internet access stops.
Like all public WiFi, your traffic passes through the venue's router. We recommend using HTTPS websites and avoiding sensitive banking activities on public networks. For extra security, use a VPN.
Double-check you're on the correct WiFi network — vouchers only work at the venue where they were purchased. Make sure you're entering the code exactly as printed (letters are not case-sensitive). If the problem persists, ask the venue to reset or replace your voucher.
